This class explores the function of magic systems as metaphor for our fantastical worlds. This is a lens that helps us to make sure our magic systems play a central, substantive role in the goings on of the story and are not simple genre dressing. Magic must matter, and understanding how it operates on a metaphorical level helps us do that. Presented by author Storm Humbert.
