Decompress from the week by dropping in to color at the library! Come with friends and chat, or come by yourself and relax! All supplies will be provided, just bring your creativity. 

Like to play chess? Want to get better? Drop by for Chess Club and play a couple of games. Bring your own board or use one of ours. Novices to chess masters are all welcome. No sign-up required.

You don’t have to be a Master Chef to attend the Food for Thought Cookbook Club. The only requirement is a hearty appetite for laughter and learning. Discover new recipes and connect with other adventurous cooks and bakers. 

Preschoolers ages 3.5 - 5 yrs. old, who are not yet in Kindergarten, can attend an independent storytime designed especially for them.

The Kindergarten - Second Grade Book Club is a chance to discuss books, engage in exciting activities, and share with friends!  We will read the book out loud during the program so there is no pre-reading required.

Grades 9-12. Highschoolers are invited to join us for an intensive SAT Bootcamp. The class will be taught by Thinking Cap Tutoring Service LLC. Registration required. 

Grades 7-12. Join us to learn how to crochet and make a variety of projects! No previous crochet experience is needed, all supplies will be provided. Registration required.

Join us for Homeschool Explorers! This month we will be having Field Day. We will move inside if the weather doesn't cooperate.

Come close the day with 30 minutes of songs, rhymes, and stories followed by a 15 minute craft!

Join fellow veterans for coffee and conversation. Veterans will have the opportunity to meet other community veterans, share stories, access resources and make new connections. Coffee and light snacks provided.

The Friends of the Library meet monthly to discuss upcoming sales, their bookstore, and so much more.  Please feel free to stop in if you'd like to know more about the Friends Group.

Build strength and flexibility along with a calmer mind in this gentle yoga class with instructor Amy Louise. Amy has been teaching yoga for 5 years and is experienced in accessible yoga for all abilities.

Celebrate and exercise your freedom to read at our Banned Book Club, where we read a variety of nationally banned and challenged books.

Toddler Tales is an interactive program between parents/caregivers and their children ages 18 months to 3.5 years.  Enjoy 30 minutes of stories, songs, signs and rhymes with your little ones.

The Westland Public Library offers a delivery service for Westland residents who are confined to their homes.

Come practice speaking English! Each week tutors from the Plymouth-Canton Literacy Council will lead the group in informal conversations designed to practice your knowledge of English. 

The Library's Board of Trustees meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm. Board meetings are held at the library and are open to the general public.
