The Westland Public Library offers a delivery service for Westland residents who are confined to their homes.

Toddler Tales is an interactive program between parents/caregivers and their children ages 18 months to 3.5 years.  Enjoy 30 minutes of stories, songs, signs and rhymes with your little ones. 

No registration required.

Come practice speaking English! Each week tutors from the Plymouth-Canton Literacy Council will lead the group in informal conversations designed to practice your knowledge of English. 

Join HealthMarkets Insurance Agent Dave Giove for a Medicare educational seminar. Learn about Medicare coverage and the options available to you. This applies whether you’re turning 65 soon or thinking about retirement.

Grades 2-5. Time for Art is a chance to use your creativity and skill to make beautiful works of art and explore different kinds of art techniques! Wear messy clothes!

Grades 3-8

Challenge yourself by learning and improving at the game of chess!  For beginners and experienced players in 3rd-8th grade. Bring your own chess set or use one of ours. No registration.

Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to join our Teen Advisory Board (TAB). We meet virtually/in person once a month to discuss library programs, online resources, and popular trends.

Preschoolers ages 3.5 - 5 yrs. old, who are not yet in Kindergarten, can attend an independent storytime designed especially for them.

Join the Westland Seed Library Growers Club!

Grades 7-12. Join us to learn how to crochet and make a variety of projects! No previous crochet experience is needed, all supplies will be provided. Registration required.

Come to the library to see live farm animals and take a pony ride!  This is an event for the whole family!  Bring your cameras and smiles!

Bring your own book (or magazine, or newspaper, etc.)! This book club has no assigned book, reading deadlines, or traditional discussion. Bring your own reading material and enjoy the company of fellow readers.

Join us for Homeschool Explorers! This month, prepare to be grossed out! Kids will discover the fascinating (and gross) reasons frogs eat their own skin, butterflies are drawn to scat, and turkey vultures regurgitate food.

Do you have questions about computers, smartphones, tablets, or the internet? We're here to help! We can also assist you with job searching and creating a resume or cover letter.

The Library's Board of Trustees meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm. Board meetings are held at the library and are open to the general public.
