Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to join our Teen Advisory Board (TAB). We meet virtually/in person once a month to discuss library programs, online resources, and popular trends.

Do you love to read?  Book Club is a great way to spend an hour with other kids who share your love of books!

The Teen Book Club is open to teens in grades 7-12. The reading level and content of the books will be geared towards high school students. We will read new books every month and enjoy different activities and snacks based on the books.

Join us to make easy no-sew pet toys and treat items to donate to Westland's Michigan Humane branch!

Bring your own book (or magazine, or newspaper, etc.)! This book club has no assigned book, reading deadlines, or traditional discussion. Bring your own reading material and enjoy the company of fellow readers.

Celebrate your freedom to read at our Banned Book Club!

Copies will be available at the Information Desk. No registration required.

The Westland Public Library offers a delivery service for Westland residents who are confined to their homes.

Come practice speaking English! Each week tutors from the Plymouth-Canton Literacy Council will lead the group in informal conversations designed to practice your knowledge of English. 

Sylvan Learning will be hosting an Introduction to Coding program for kids in Grades 2-6.  This session is geared toward kids that have minimal coding experience.   

Grades 2-5. Time for Art is a chance to use your creativity and skill to make beautiful works of art and explore different kinds of art techniques! Wear messy clothes!

Grades 7-12. 

Learn the basics of self-defense with instructor Oscar Silvera of Silvera Karate Jutsu. Registration required. Please bring a gym/yoga mat if you have one. 

Come close the day with 30 minutes of songs, rhymes, and stories followed by a 15 minute craft!

We will read a book together then do some fun food preparation! Bring an apron or smock if you have one, and be ready to roll up your sleeves!  Registration begins January 18.

Grades 7-12. Join us to learn how to crochet and make a variety of projects! No previous crochet experience is needed, all supplies will be provided. Registration required.

Join us for hands-on activities involving Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math!  Grades 1st- 6th.
