Week Calendar

Families are invited to bring a blanket and join us on the lawn of the Children's Garden for a fun and interactive storytime!  Weekly on Wednesdays from 10-10:30am, June 11 to August 20 (no storytime on July 2).

The Westland Public Library offers a delivery service for Westland residents who are confined to their homes.

Ages 5-7: Here's your chance to dance!  Learn some new steps and a short routine.  Class will be outdoors, weather permitting. Please wear shoes that are safe for dancing (no flip-flops please).

Ages 3 & up, with a caregiver.

Listen, sing, and stretch along to stories with your child!  No yoga experience necessary.  Bring your own mat or borrow one of ours (while supplies last).

Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that can improve flexibility, decrease stress, and reduce joint strain.

Ages 8 and up: Here's your chance to dance!  Learn some new steps and a short routine.  Class will be outdoors, weather permitting. Please wear shoes that are safe for dancing (no flip-flops please).

Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to earn their CPR and First Aid Certification in this FREE one-day course presented by Troy Klann, a Fire Lieutenant at the Detroit Fire Department.

Grades 7-12. Teens will tie-dye shirts, bags, and items they brought from home! Shirts will be provided. Registration required. 

Come practice speaking English! Each week tutors from the Plymouth-Canton Literacy Council will lead the group in informal conversations designed to practice your knowledge of English. 

Like to play chess? Want to get better? Drop by for Chess Club and play a couple of games. Bring your own board or use one of ours. Novices to chess masters are all welcome. No sign-up required.

Presenters from OpenSpot Theatre will hold a theatre workshop for adults 18 & up. All levels of interest and ability are welcome. There will be an hour of singing, dancing, and acting with a performance at the end. Registration required.

Join us in the Children's Garden to make a Stepping Stone for your Garden!  Ages 3-12.  

NOTE:  Stones will remain at the library to dry and can be picked up on Wednesday.

In this five-week class, you will learn how to design your own rain garden! Rain Gardens filter and cool storm water so that our streams and rivers run clean.

Let's make vinegar and baking soda rockets!  We'll decorate our bottles and test them out. Grades 2-6.
