Program Description

Event Details

The documentary feature Crip Camp marks a historic moment in mainstream representation of the disability experience. In sharing with insight, clarity, humor, and beauty, the experiences of one group of disabled young people and their journey to activism and adulthood, it provides an opportunity for all to delve into the rich and complicated history of disability activism, culture, and history. The activists featured have paved a pathway to what is now known as the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

After viewing the documentary, TAB member Autumn Persinger will lead a discussion about the film, and attendees are welcome to share their own experiences as members and allies of the disability community.
