0-2 with a caregiver

Toddler Tales is an interactive program between parents/caregivers and their children ages 18 months to 3.5 years.  Enjoy 30 minutes of stories, songs, signs and rhymes with your little ones. 

No registration required.

Preschoolers ages 3.5 - 5 yrs. old, who are not yet in Kindergarten, can attend an independent storytime designed especially for them.

Join Elaine Pereira, outreach ambassador Compassion & Choices Michigan Volunteer Action Team, as she describes the mission, values, and vision of Compassion & Choices, a national nonprofit organization.

The Kindergarten - Second Grade Book Club is a chance to discuss books, engage in exciting activities, and share with friends!  We will read the book out loud during the program so there is no pre-reading required.

The Friends of the Library meet monthly to discuss upcoming sales, their bookstore, and so much more.  Please feel free to stop in if you'd like to know more about the Friends Group.

Bring up to 5 boxes (no plastic bags, please) of paper documents to be shredded. 

Shred Corp. of Madison Heights will be in the parking lot near the Veterans Memorial Garden to receive your documents. 

A solar eclipse will take place on April 8, and the Westland Public Library is offering ways to safely view it. The total solar eclipse will move across the United States from Texas to Maine.

Homeschool families are invited to gather together in this fun "Hangout" just for you!  Share light refreshments, simple crafts, and building blocks with new friends!  

Come practice speaking English at the Westland Public Library. Each week tutors from the Plymouth-Canton Literacy Council will lead the group in informal conversations designed to practice your knowledge of English. 

Like to play chess? Want to get better? Drop by for Chess Club and play a couple of games. Bring your own board or use one of ours. Novices to chess masters are all welcome. No sign-up required.

Come close the day with 30 minutes of songs, rhymes, and stories followed by a 15 minute craft!

Join Andrew Fleszar from the Michigan Mushroom Hunters for a presentation on cooking, foraging, and gardening of mushrooms. 

All are welcome to attend meetings of your local Toastmasters club! Improve your speaking and listening skills in a supportive, friendly group setting.

Grades 2-5. Time for Art is a chance to use your creativity and skill to make works of art and explore different kinds of art techniques!

You don’t have to be a Master Chef to attend the Food for Thought Cookbook Club. The only requirement is a hearty appetite for laughter and learning. Discover new recipes and connect with other adventurous cooks and bakers. 

Grades 7-12.
